UCA^TM For Gas Industry

This three-volume report examines the application of the Utility Communications Architecture (UCATM) Version 2 by the gas industry to standardize communications for monitoring and control. It describes the results of EPRI project W08606-02, "Integrated UCA for Gas Industry." Volume 1 (1001399) compares the communication requirements of the gas industry with the capabilities of the UCA. Volume 2 (1001400) defines UCA device object models for the gas industry and provides related supporting information. Volume 3 (1001401) presents guidelines for the specification of a substation control and data acquisition (SCADA)-type system for gas transmission and distribution that can act as an interface and controller for remote UCA devices and enterprise-wide utility applications.
