IEC 61850 in action

ABB will demonstrate at the CIGRE 2002 in Paris (26. - 30. August 2002) a further milestone for the introduction of IEC 61850.

For the first time:

• the transmission of the sampled values from non conventional voltage and
  current transformers as well as
• the transmission of the trip signal and position information applying the GOOSE mechanism
• using the same communication network, creating a process bus as defined in IEC 61850

will be demonstrated.

The following equipment and systems will be shown in a life demonstration using real switchgear components:

The demonstration is an exhibit at the ABB booth of the CIGRE Exposition
from Monday August 26 to Friday, August 30, 2002
